The global refugee crisis continues unabated, and recent events in the United States have yet again shone a light on the crippling needs facing refugees around the world. Hosted by the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), the Council on Foundations, and Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, this discussion focused on motivating funders to take immediate and collaborative actions for the betterment of refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.
CDP President & CEO Bob Ottenhoff moderated the discussion that included opening remarks from Council on Foundations Director of Knowledge Services Stacie Freasier. Expert panelists included Debra Jacobs, President and CEO, The Patterson Foundation, Aryah Somers Landsberger, Director of Programs, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, and Anne Richard, visiting fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perry World House and adjunct professor, Georgetown University; previously Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration.
