Through targeted, direct technical assistance, the CDP team is available to help your organization adopt and implement the core principles of effective disaster philanthropy. As an essential component of your grantmaking program, our technical assistance provides a range of operational or management support that includes advice and guidance, custom training and workshops, due diligence, and data review, among other services.
Our technical assistance helps your organization:
Deepen your disaster expertise. To learn more about online disaster giving, a client turned to us to provide analysis of current on-line individual donations to disasters, answering the who, to what and when questions of how this stream of philanthropy is impacting disaster recovery.
Extend your reach. CDP assisted TechSoup in updating, streamlining and adapting its guide to information technology resiliency for nonprofits, strengthening the preparedness of these organizations to bounce back for the sake of the international communities they serve. Now translated into five languages in addition to English, the guide has been downloaded over 1500 times to date.
Implement strategic solutions. In response to the continuing effects of the contamination of the Flint, MI water supply, the C.S. Mott Foundation asked CDP to meet with local philanthropic leaders. To remediate the long-term, negative impacts of lead poisoning, our team suggested strategic grantmaking and staffing approaches that would support the affected individuals, families, and organizations.
