Grant Operations Assistant

As grant operations assistant, Nasteho supports the Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s grantmaking team with administrative tasks, data management, compliance tracking and process improvement.

Before joining CDP, Nasteho worked in the public health sector, focusing on grant management, donor relations, community-based programming and data analysis. She has experience supporting public health initiatives, donor engagement strategies and policy research. Bilingual in English and Somali, Nasteho brings strong cross-cultural communication skills to her work.

Nasteho holds a bachelor’s in public health with a minor in sociology and health equity from The George Washington University, with a focus on refugee and migrant health. Her studies also included global health, research methods and grant writing. Nasteho also studied abroad in Stockholm, Sweden, where she focused on public health and migration.

Nasteho is based in Atlanta, Georgia. She loves trying local coffee shops, learning to cook dishes from different cultures, hiking and walking new trails, and reading. When she’s not exploring a new recipe or reading a book, she’s likely attending a local event or planning a weekend getaway.
