Colin Lovell serves as the director of development operations at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP). In this role, he supports strategic fundraising initiatives crucial for amassing the vital resources that fuel CDP’s mission. He leverages analytics to identify new donor partnerships and deepen donor relationships through effective cultivation and stewardship activities.
A problem predicator and solution seeker, Colin connects to the varied and multi-disciplinary work of development operations because he believes that donor-partners seek to make lasting, community-led change rooted in justice and intersectional equity.
Before his tenure at CDP, Colin enriched his diverse skill set over 15 years with varied organizations such as The New York Women’s Foundation, Action Against Hunger, Foodbank for New York City and the National LGBTQ Task Force. His expertise spans CRM selection and implementation, digital campaign strategies with a focus on return on investment, audit readiness, and the enhancement of operational procedures.
Originally from the Midwest, Colin’s journey took him from the Pacific Northwest to his current residence in New York City, where he cherishes time spent with his chosen family in his adopted city. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with a certificate in gender studies from Ohio University, where he was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Stonewall Leadership Award.
