Nonprofit Organizations
In a disaster, those with direct, lived experience in a community are often best positioned to navigate what is needed for recovery. CDP works with and supports frontline organizations through both our grantmaking and advisory services.
We value the critical work that national and international nonprofit and NGOs are doing to support people and communities affected by disasters. To realize our vision of a world where the impact of disasters is minimized by thoughtful, equitable and responsible recovery for all, we support organizations directly through our grantmaking and drive donor action through our Partner Connect lists.
Our grantmaking
At CDP, our grants support medium- and long-term recovery and resilience efforts in communities affected by natural hazards, as well as conflicts and humanitarian crises. With a focus on historically marginalized and at-risk populations, CDP prioritizes investments in local organizations to support a range of programs critical for individuals’ and communities’ recovery. Please note that CDP does not accept unsolicited proposals.
Partner Connect
Partner Connect is a CDP service for funders that provides timely context on disasters and complex humanitarian emergencies, along with a curated list of trusted nonprofit organizations actively responding. When donors want to act quickly during or immediately after a crisis, Partner Connect supports informed, effective giving decisions that contribute to long-term recovery.
Disaster news and education resources
We encourage nonprofits to attend our webinars and review our other educational resources, including our Issue Insights and blog posts.
Share your disaster assessments or updates with us

We are committed to embedding racial and intersectional equity and our organizational values into our practices, operations and decision-making. This includes how we choose organizations to support through our grantmaking and those we recommend to other funders. Read our nondiscrimination policy to learn more.
