Jami Fancher

Director, Donor Engagement

Jami Fancher leads donor engagement at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. In this role, she cultivates and stewards relationships with individuals, foundations and corporate donors to ensure a best-in-class experience that strengthens philanthropic support for equitable disaster recovery. Her work helps donors connect meaningfully with CDP’s mission and maximize their impact.

Jami’s passion for philanthropy is rooted in helping others create the change they want to see in the world. She has more than a decade of experience in fundraising strategy and donor relations, including leadership roles at Near East Foundation, Doorways for Women and Families, and the Cancer Support Community. Her career began at The Ohio State University through the Mount Leadership Society, where a volunteer project led to her first fundraising role. She earned her degree from the John Glenn School of Public Affairs with a focus on nonprofit management.

Remaining deeply committed to equity-centered giving, Jami is passionate about mobilizing support so that people and communities can lead their own paths forward in recovery. This is a principle that has guided every mission she has served.

Jami lives in Washington, D.C., with her partner and their two pets. She serves as the fundraising chair and treasurer on the board of Community Tax Aid, supporting low-income community members with free tax preparation services. When she is not helping donors make a difference, she can be found gardening or testing out a new recipe.
