Kerry Hunter
Controller
Kerry Hunter is the controller for the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP). In this role, she oversees CDP’s day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting, including general ledger, payroll, budgeting, audits, regulatory compliance and internal controls. She also supports the organization’s financial systems and process improvements while partnering with teams across CDP to promote sound financial stewardship and operational excellence.
With more than 15 years of accounting and financial management experience, Kerry’s expertise spans nonprofit accounting, grant and restricted fund accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit leadership, payroll administration, treasury management, regulatory compliance, internal controls and financial systems optimization. She is passionate about building strong financial foundations that enable mission-driven organizations to achieve lasting impact while ensuring the highest standards of accountability and transparency.
Kerry believes finance is most effective when it serves as a trusted strategic partner. She is known for fostering collaborative relationships, strengthening processes, translating complex financial information into meaningful business insights and empowering leaders to make informed decisions that advance organizational goals.
Kerry holds a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting.
Kerry lives in South Florida with her family. She is the proud mother of two daughters — one is a second-year student at Florida State University, and the other is in seventh grade. Outside of work, Kerry enjoys traveling and creating meaningful experiences with her family.
