Domestic Funds Program Manager

As domestic funds program manager, Laura Lynn Taylor supports CDP’s domestic grantmaking in partnership with organizations addressing disaster recovery needs throughout the United States and the U.S. territories. In her role, she contributes to the domestic funds team’s grantmaking strategies, builds relationships with nonprofit organizations, guides them through CDP’s grantmaking processes and amplifies the voices of the communities served by our grantmaking through impact storytelling.

A lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and hailing from Lake Charles, Louisiana, which the Weather Channel has called “the most weather-battered city” in the mainland U.S., Laura Lynn is no stranger to disasters or to the recovery barriers faced by communities that have endured decades-long disinvestment. Laura Lynn brings years of experience “in the trenches” to her role at CDP, with past volunteer and professional roles rendering direct services to migrant and asylum-seeking families and individuals, persons in immigration detention, folks who are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing conditions, and homeowners from disenfranchised communities who need assistance repairing or rebuilding their homes after a disaster.

Before entering the human services field, Laura Lynn was social media and brand manager for six years for a juvenile durable goods brand focused on creating sustainably produced reusable products for infants and toddlers. She gained networking, communications, research and market analysis skills that have translated directly into her work in the helping professions.

Laura Lynn is a mother to five wonderful and wildly different children and stepmother to two equally wonderful young men. When she’s not at work, she enjoys cheering her kids on at dance recitals, choir concerts and robotics tournaments, experiencing live music with her husband, and giving too many treats to their labradoodle and yorkie, Malcolm and Jolie.
