Making Space Safe for Children
When her basement flooded, Ann was forced to close her day care center. The whole basement was wet, and the stairs were getting moldy, but Ann did not have any insurance to cover the repairs. That’s why Child Care Aware of Minnesota stepped in to help. After the basement and stairs were dried out and mold remediation was complete, new sheetrock and carpet were installed. The photos above show the space before and after the repairs were completed. Now, children are once again using this space and are thrilled to have it done. Child Care Aware of Minnesota received a grant from the Midwest Early Recovery Fund to help day care providers recovering from disasters in Minnesota.
