Center for Disaster Philanthropy Selected as One of Two National Organizations for Target Circle Campaign
WASHINGTON (April 16, 2020) – The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) announced today it was chosen as one of the national organizations to participate in a special charitable giving campaign sponsored and funded by Target. Now through June 30, shoppers can vote for CDP through the Target Circle program to determine how Target’s donation will be divvied up. Every vote counts toward receiving a portion of available funds.
CDP has a mission to mobilize a full range of resources that strengthen communities’ ability to withstand disasters and recover equitably when they occur. Contributions from this campaign will support the CDP COVID-19 Response Fund that is working on response efforts to help slow the spread of the virus and help those affected in vulnerable communities.
The Fund has four broad categories of grantmaking in its first two rounds, all with a focus on supporting vulnerable communities: urgent distribution of critical items; food distribution and capacity building to help organizations address the large increase in demand; clinics that are helping maintain access to health care and prescriptions for those with chronic conditions to help prevent the spread of the virus and small business emergency grants.
