After an incredibly growth-filled year, we are expanding our team. The talent and expertise being added to CDP is incredible. Let me tell you more about each of our new team members!
Brennan Banks is no stranger to disasters or to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. Soon to be based near Miami, Brennan is joining CDP as the Director of Disaster Recovery Funds. He will lead all of our grant making and grant management efforts for our Hurricane Irma, Atlantic Hurricane Season, California Wildfire, Mexico Earthquake, and Global Refugee Crisis Funds. He will also be taking the lead in our partnership with Google.
Brittney Brown joins us as an associate supporting our consulting services team. She combines a unique background in organizational development, leadership, and religious studies towards research and project support. Based in Nashville, Brittney has a Master of Theological Studies and a Master of Education in Organizational Performance from Vanderbilt University.
Melanie Davis-Jones joins CDP as our Director of Marketing and Communications. Based in Raleigh, she has a range of experience in both nonprofit and corporate marketing, including work with United Way, Pepsi-Cola, and Royal Caribbean. A talented brand strategist, Melanie will work to articulate how the private philanthropic community can increase its effectiveness as she brings life to CDP’s mission of ensuring strategic investments transform the landscape of disaster philanthropy.
Tanya Gulliver-Garcia, comes to us from Foundation for Louisiana as our new Assistant Director of Major Initiatives. Based in New Orleans, Tanya is a self-described disaster junkie. She is a writer, a long-term disaster volunteer, and has subject matter expertise in evaluation. She is ready to roll up her sleeves leading our Disaster Philanthropy Playbook and Measuring the State of Disaster Philanthropy efforts as well as leading our NGO relations.
Liz Joseph, a native Virginian based in Reston, joins CDP as an administrative assistant. She is bringing her paralegal training to bear at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy by supporting our finance team and central operations. She is an avid volunteer at church and with the Girl Scouts. She’s also an enthusiastic dance mom.
