Responsibilities & Duties
Over the last few years of CDP’s 13-year history, growth has been exponential. CDP’s positioning and greater visibility have sustained increased revenue and associated expenses. Alongside growth comes a necessity to increase our capacity, including the skills and experience available to us as we fulfill our mission; CDP is looking for a talented and committed addition to the development team.
This position will play a role in all aspects of CDP’s data management within Raiser’s Edge/NXT (RENXT) platform. This position will also supervise a development assistant.
Responsibilities include:
Data maintenance in Blackbaud RENXT (70%)
- Manage all aspects of gift entry in RENXT.
- Maintain high data integrity and accuracy.
- Perform ongoing cleaning and deduplication of records.
- When appropriate, suggest innovations to improve efficiency and impact of how CDP uses and tracks data across systems.
- Create and maintain RENXT standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Manage integration of data from RENXT with other systems being used by CDP (ex: BBGM, MailChimp, etc.) and serve as the point person for working with any vendors regarding the database and its integrations.
- Partner with the finance team to ensure the proper designation of donor funds.
- Identify strategies and tactics for using data to enhance CDP’s efforts.
Data training and reporting (20%)
- Participate in monthly team meetings and lunch & learns, volunteer as applicable to present on database best practices.
- Collaborate with other CDP teams to implement RENXT for reporting purposes and assess the need for further training.
- Provide onboarding & training on RENXT to new CDP employees.
- Respond to team members’ inquiries and requests regarding CDP’s fundraising database and reports.
- Assess current reporting protocols and make improvements as needed.
Management and other duties as assigned (10%)
- Supervise the database assistant and other employees or interns, as applicable.
- Travel occasionally for professional development/in-person team meetings.
- Serve on committees and task forces at CDP as appropriate and available.
- Represent CDP in a positive, professional manner in meetings and external-facing opportunities.
- Perform other duties and job-related tasks that may be assigned that are consistent with the strategic goals of the role, the department and the organization.
This position reports to the senior director of development but works in service of other development team members and CDP.
The successful candidate will be a mission-driven team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of humor.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of work experience in a professional setting, with a preference for experience in fundraising database management.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration, communications, computer science or equivalent education/work experience, desired
- Practical experience supervising staff, consultants and operational tasks or areas, including setting objectives, monitoring deadlines and performance, required.
- High skill level in utilizing CRM databases, Blackbaud RENXT, preferred.
- Excellent skills in M.S. Office suite, especially Excel.
- Developed analytical and critical thinking skills with precise attention to detail.
- Commitment to serving marginalized and vulnerable communities.
- Ability to build relationships with and motivate database users with diverse personalities and backgrounds.
- Ability to adapt to database users’ learning styles.
- Adept at proactively multi-tasking and adapting to changing and competing needs/priorities.
