Getting Back on Their Feet
After living in their house for more than 30 years, Mr. and Mrs. Riedel struggled to cope with a downpour of 12 inches in 90 minutes that flooded their basement. An 80-year-old veteran, Mr. Riedel needs two knee replacements and Mrs. Riedel has emphysema. Without any computer skills, the couple struggled to access available assistance.
As part of a Midwest Early Recovery Fund grant, Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri sent case manager Alissa Marlow to work with them. Alissa ensured the Riedels were able to develop a recovery plan that allowed them to access the resources they needed to get back on their feet.
