Jamaal Smith is the executive assistant to the CEO at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. He brings more than 15 years of invaluable executive support experience to the team. His expertise spans various sectors, including government and healthcare, with notable contributions within the Department of Health and Human Services for the Family and Youth Services Bureau. There, Jamaal played a pivotal role in combatting human trafficking, youth homelessness, intimate partner violence and adolescent pregnancy.

Jamaal’s dedication to philanthropy is deeply ingrained and fostered by his extensive international exposure. Having lived among diverse cultures across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, he possesses a profound understanding of the multifaceted impacts of disasters on different demographics. This global perspective fuels his passion for humanitarian efforts.
