As the systems and compliance intern at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, Ashlyn Bedonie (she/they) supports CDP in keeping information and systems up to date. Ashlyn joined CDP because of her passion for learning and helping others.
Before working at CDP, Ashlyn worked as an accounting clerk, assisting with payroll, invoice processing, and other clerical duties while attending school to obtain her bachelor’s degree. Currently, she is in her last year at the University of Arizona, where she will earn a degree in applied computing with an emphasis in software development.
Born in Arizona on the Navajo Reservation, Ashlyn decided to travel the world and lived overseas for years in both Australia and the United Kingdom. While overseas, she learned about other communities’ diverse struggles and is more passionate than ever to help others.
Currently, Ashlyn lives and works remotely in Champaign, Illinois, with her partner, Jesse, as they await the arrival of their first child. Ashlyn fills most of her days with schooling, reading and hiking.
